To Create Traces Between Requirements and Quality Center Test Cases

  1. Select the Quality Center tab.
  2. Select the Requirements, Test Plan, or Test Lab tab to trace the selected requirement to a corresponding Quality Center object.
  3. Select a server name from the list of available Quality Center servers. Caliber connects to the Quality Center server.
  4. Select a Quality Center domain. Caliber connects to the Quality Center domain.
  5. Select a Quality Center project. Caliber connects to the Quality Center project.
    Note: When you access a Quality Center project for the first time, the Login to Quality Center Server dialog box appears. Specify a valid user name and password to access the Quality Center server. Once valid credentials are entered for a Quality Center server, these credentials cannot be changed.
  6. Select a Quality Center object you want to trace a requirement to or from.
    Note: The “Test execution status” for Quality Center Test objects, and status for Quality Center Requirements are displayed under the external status column of the Traceability tab. Note that status for TEST SET is not displayed in Caliber at this time. Also note that the execution status displayed for Test Lab tests is the status of the last run Test Lab test (among all the Test Lab tests created for the matching Test Plan test (or “No Run” if no Test Lab tests were created).
  7. Click the Trace From or Trace To button from the menu to create a traceability link from a Caliber requirement to a Quality Center object.
  8. Click the Save As button to save the trace.
