Logging into SCTM

In order to manage trace between Caliber and SCTM , external traceability has to be enabled through Administrator UI at the project level. See procedures on ”Enabling external traceability”.

The URL for SCTM's front end server can be set in the configuration file. For more information, see procedures on ”Configuring Silk Central Test Manager with Caliber”. Once this feature has been enabled, user can add traces to and from SCTM.

Note: Traces can only be created in SCTM and published from SCTM to Caliber during Project synchronization process. There is no functionality within Caliber to create traces to SCTM. Therefore, one must have a synchronized project between SCTM and Caliber before creating traces in SCTM to Caliber. The direction of trace is also changed. With the integration, all traces between Requirement and test definitions are always considered as Requirement to Test definitions.

To log into Test Manager:

  1. Navigate to the IP address or URL of your Test Manager installation.
Note: Speak to your system administrator about the URL, username, and password you should use to log into SilkCentral Test Manager.
  2. On the SCTM login page, enter your Username and Password.
  3. Select the remember login checkbox to have Test Manager auto-complete usernames and remember your password when you begin typing your username.
  4. Click Login to begin working with Test Manager.
Note: When logging in for the first time, you will be directed to the Project Overview in the Projects unit. Upon subsequent login, you will automatically be directed to the URL you were visiting when you logged out of Test Manager during your previous visit. For example, if when you previously logged out of Test Manager you had a certain test definition selected, you will automatically be directed to that test definition upon login.

For Project level synchronization, one SCTM project can be associated with one Requirement Type in Caliber. “Settings” menu in SCTM allows you to enable integration between SCTM and Caliber. With Project level synchronization enabled the context menu
