Installing MPX Services

The StarTeam Message Broker, or MPX, allows you to publish information about MPX events, such as creating or deleting a requirement.

Benefits of MPX include:

  • Requirement additions appear in the requirement tree even if the parent node has already been expanded.
  • Requirement deletions are removed from the requirement tree even if the parent node has already been expanded.
  • Clients cache requirement data as it is retrieved from the server. The next time those requirements are selected, they are retrieved from local cache. If someone changes the requirement, the client retrieves the latest data from the server.
Note: If the Message Broker is not used, the application will function without any issues. However, if there are any additions, deletions or changes to the requirements, you must refresh the project to see the amended requirements.
