Setting up Data Server

The Caliber data server provides a control panel that allows you to configure your server. The control panel contains advanced options, that you should only change if the server is not functioning properly and at the discretion of technical support.

To access the control panel, select Settings > Control Panel Windows Start menu. Double-click Caliber Data Server. Click on the Global properties tab to configure your server.

To set the Global Properties

  1. Enter the Caliber Server Port id. This determines port selection for the server.
    Note: If you change the port, you must reboot and include the new port number when you login.
  2. Enter the SQM Monitor Port. This determines port selection for the server. The SQM Monitor is what makes the initial contact between the server and client.
    Note: If you change the port, you must reboot and include the new port number when you login.
  3. You can check Server Only or Client and Server to enable secure connections.
  4. Select the Server Idle Timeout Time from the list. This determines how many hours the server will remain idle before it automatically recycles.
  5. Enter the Database Server . You can also rename your existing server.
    Note: If you change the IP address of the Caliber data server, you must restart the server.
  6. Enter the Database Name . You can select another database if more than one exists.
  7. Click Apply to apply changes. Click OK to close the dialog box. Click Close to close the dialog box.
