Step 7 - Add the Login Screen to the Simulation Diagram

Simulation diagrams contain configurable objects representing the screens, logic, decisions, and redirect actions that convey the flow of the simulation. These objects are linked to each other with connector lines just as the steps in a scenario.

In this lesson, you learn how to add a Login screen to the Login simulation diagram and how to add content to the Login screen.

  1. Add the Login screen to the Login simulation diagram:
    1. On the Simulation Designer toolbar, click the New screen action button New screen action button..
    2. Type Login, and then move and connect the screen action under the Start step.
  2. Configure the Login screen action, as shown in the following graphic:

    1. In the Simulation Designer, double-click the Login screen. The Screen Editor appears in which you can add content using the buttons on the Screen Editor toolbar.
    2. Click the Rectangle button Scenario Designer Rectangle button. and move the rectangle to the center of the screen.
    3. Access the Details window and click the Rectangle bar.
    4. Configure the border color and thickness and background color to match the Employee Logon graphic.
    5. Click the New rich text button Scenario Designer New Rich Text button..
    6. Double-click the box to open the box editor.
    7. Type Employee Logon. Set a large font size and bold property, and then move the text inside the rectangle.
    8. Click the New box button Scenario Designer New Text Box button., and then move the box under Employee Logon.
      Note: To change the default width of box, access the Details window, click the Text Box bar, and set the desired width in the Width box.
    9. Click the New rich text button Scenario Designer New Rich Text button..
    10. Type Username, and then move the text to the left of the box.
    11. Repeat the previous steps to create a Password box under the Username box.
    12. Click New button Scenario Designer New Button button., and then move the button under the Password box.
    13. Access the Details window. Under the General bar, type Login in the Name box.
      Note: By default, buttons are set to continue to the next step in the simulation design. Access the Details window, and click the Button bar to verify the navigation type of the button.
  3. Close the Screen Editor.
    1. Move your pointer over the Login screen tab. A red close button appears on the tab, as shown in the following graphic.

    2. Click the Close button.
