Exporting a Simulation Diagram as an Image

A simulation diagram must be created to export it as an image.
Use this task when you need to save a diagram to your computer or a network location, or you want to send a diagram to someone as an email attachment, or if you need a printed version of the diagram. The diagram is exported as a PNG file. You can export a diagram even if the project is locked for editing by another user.
  1. In the Project Explorer, under Simulations, select the simulation you want to export as an image. The Simulation Designer appears.
  2. Click Export as image button on the Simulation Designer toolbar. A dialog box opens and displays three options: Open, Save, and Cancel
  3. Choose one option from the following choices:
    • To open the PNG file, click Open to open the application configured for PNG files on your system. The PNG file appears in the application.
    • To save the PNG file, click Save to open the Save dialog box. Type a name in the Name box and navigate to the location at which to save the PNG file. Click OK. The PNG file is saved, and the dialog box closes.
    • To cancel the operation, click Cancel to close the dialog box and return to the diagram.
If you chose to view the PNG file, you can manipulate it with the features available in the application configured to work with PNG files on your system. Most applications allow, at minimum, the capacity to print and save. You can also send it as an attachment to an email.
